Alex Lawther

Alex Lawther is one of those actors I trust to make unsettling material feel human. From his West End debut in David Hare's South Downs to the live-wire fragility he brought to screen roles, he has a gift for characters who are wounded yet never pitiable. What draws me in is the contrast: a slight, watchful presence carrying surprising steel underneath. That he also works as a climate activist tells me his seriousness is not just performance. I find him genuinely unpredictable in the best way, an actor who picks risk over comfort, and I am quietly eager to see where his instincts take him next.
