My Take

Bae Seong-woo is the kind of Korean character actor I trust on sight. He doesn't headline the poster, but drop him into Inside Men, Office or The Exclusive and the scene gets sharper, edgier, a little more uncomfortable in the best way. That 2015 run alone is a reminder of how much he was carrying mid-2010s Korean cinema from the supporting ranks. He can play oily, menacing or quietly broken with the same conviction. I always took his presence as a sign the casting director knew what they were doing. A reliable craftsman, not a celebrity, and I mean that as praise.
