My Take
What strikes me about Chris Coleman is the full-circle arc of his story. A Welsh defender who broke through at his hometown club Swansea before the Premier League years at Crystal Palace, he then carved out a second life in the dugout. Standing 188cm and decorated with an OBE, he clearly earned respect on both sides of the white line. I'm most drawn to the coaching chapter, because management demands a different nerve than playing ever does. The leap from holding a back line together to holding a whole squad together is one I always find fascinating, and Coleman made it look natural.
