Damson Idris

Damson Idris is one of those actors who genuinely snuck up on you — a kid from Peckham who studied at Brunel, then quietly built a career until Snowfall made it impossible to look away. His Franklin Saint is one of the most compelling arcs in prestige TV of the last decade: you watch this bright-eyed teenager get devoured by the crack epidemic he helped fuel, and Idris plays every stage of that unraveling with total conviction. What impresses me most is his restraint — Franklin rarely needs to raise his voice, because Damson communicates everything through stillness and those eyes. He's the kind of actor other actors study. After Snowfall wrapped in 2023, the industry clearly knows it too, and I'm genuinely curious where he goes from here.
