My Take

Dominic Cooper is, to my eye, one of Britain's most usefully double-sided actors. The stage grounding gives him technical security, but what sells him is the split he carries: rakish charm laid over something wounded and volatile. Preacher let him weaponize both at once, and his young Howard Stark sketched an entire tragic future in a few scenes of swagger. He sings, he does period drama, he does pulp, and he never seems precious about billing. Greenwich-born and theatre-trained, he reads as a craftsman who treats charisma as a tool rather than a destination. I keep expecting that his defining role is still ahead.
