My Take

Eve Higgins is the sort of athlete I enjoy following early. A Dubliner from Lucan, born in 1999, she has climbed through Railway Union and Leinster to the Ireland setup in both fifteens and sevens. That dual-code ability impresses me most, because the two formats demand almost opposite things: sevens rewards raw speed and space, fifteens rewards structure and stamina, and switching between them takes real adaptability. That she did it while studying at UCD says something about her discipline. Irish women's rugby is on the rise, and I would happily bet on Higgins being one of the names carrying it forward.
