George Costigan

George Costigan is the kind of British character actor I instinctively trust. Forever tied to his turn as Bob in Rita, Sue and Bob Too, he has spent decades quietly elevating projects like Happy Valley from the margins of the frame. The fact that he also writes tells me he understands stories from the inside out. I have always valued actors who never chase the spotlight yet make every scene feel more grounded simply by being in it. His longevity, stretching back to the 1970s, is its own quiet achievement, and to me it embodies the durable craftsmanship of English stage and screen.
