My Take
Jo Martin earned a permanent place in television history the moment she stepped in as the Fugitive Doctor in Doctor Who, adding a bold new face to a decades-long legacy. Born in London, she has built a wonderfully varied career across The Crouches, Holby City, Back to Life and The Marlow Murder Club. I particularly admire that she is a writer as well as an actress, because performers who can craft their own stories tend to have a sturdier creative core. Her patient, steady climb to such a landmark role speaks of real resilience, and I am eager to see where she goes next.
