Josh O'Connor

Josh O'Connor is my favorite kind of actor: one who builds characters from silence outward. His sheep farmer in God's Own Country said almost nothing and conveyed everything, and his Prince Charles in The Crown turned royal stiffness into genuine tragedy. What strikes me is his refusal to coast on leading-man looks; he keeps choosing roles defined by awkwardness, repression, and tenderness, which is a far harder register than charm. Born in 1990, he is entering his prime with the instincts of a character actor and the opportunities of a star — a combination that almost always produces a great career.
