Jung Gun-joo

What I appreciate about Jung Gun-joo is the unglamorous shape of his climb. Rather than parachuting into prestige projects, he logged real reps in web dramas before earning his way onto broadcast television, and that kind of patience usually produces actors who age well on screen. His engineering background is an unusual detail that makes me imagine a methodical, almost analytical approach to building a character. He signed with JYP Entertainment in 2017 and got his start in DAY6's "I Like You" video, which is exactly why I find him interesting: he feels like a slow-burn talent rather than a manufactured one. I'll be watching to see whether his next role is the one that breaks him out.
