Oh Dal-su

I have a soft spot for actors who never chase the spotlight yet quietly hold a film together, and Oh Dal-su is the gold standard. Being summoned again and again across Park Chan-wook's filmography, from Oldboy to Lady Vengeance, is no accident; it is the mark of a craftsman a director trusts completely. Over thirty-five years on stage, screen and television, he built a career on reliability rather than flash. To me, his warm, lived-in face does more for a scene than most leading men, and that durable, unshowy excellence is exactly what I admire most in his work.
