My Take

Keïta belongs to that golden generation of Ivorian footballers who put West African talent on the European map. A 184 cm winger out of Abidjan, he tore down the flank for clubs like Lyon and Galatasaray and carried his national team for over a decade, from 2000 to 2012. What draws me to him is the trailblazer's temperament. He came up when African players still had to fight harder for top-flight respect, and his pace and directness made the case for him with no excuses. I have a real soft spot for footballers who open doors with their own legs.
