Aleks Paunovic

Aleks Paunovic is exactly the type of character actor I have a soft spot for. From Jim McAllister on Arctic Air to Julius on Van Helsing and Boki on Snowpiercer, he keeps stealing scenes without ever needing top billing. His imposing 6-foot-5 frame lets him swing from menacing villain to warm-hearted ally, and you recognize the face long before the name. He writes too, which only deepens my sense that he is a true working craftsman. Performers like him are the connective tissue that gives a production real texture and weight.
