My Take
Andrew Schofield is the kind of seasoned character actor I deeply admire. Born in Kirkby in 1958, he originated the role of the Narrator in Willy Russell's Blood Brothers in 1983 and played Johnny Rotten in Alex Cox's Sid and Nancy in 1986. Embodying a punk icon takes nerve and a fierce command of presence, and that role alone signals real range. These understated, craftsman-like performers rarely get the spotlight they earn, and I find his career quietly remarkable.
