My Take
Antoine de Caunes is the kind of broadcaster who seems to have done everything: presenting, acting, directing, radio. What I find most compelling is the dynasty around him, with famous broadcaster parents and his actress daughter Emma. Plenty of people inherit a name and coast on it; he instead carved out decades of relevance under his own. That recognition with the Order of Agricultural Merit hints at how deeply woven he is into French cultural life. I have a soft spot for hosts who mix quick wit with sharp irreverence, and television cultures everywhere could use more figures who treat charm and intelligence as the same skill.
