My Take
Dawkins is my idea of a warrior athlete. The nickname Weapon X was earned, not marketed, by a safety who played every snap as if his honor depended on it. Sixteen NFL seasons, most of them anchoring the Philadelphia secondary, capped by a Hall of Fame induction, tell the statistical story, but the numbers undersell the man. What I love is the raw emotion he poured onto the field, the way his intensity dragged teammates and a whole city along with him. He led from the gut, and that kind of fire is rarer than talent.
