My Take
With Choi Jong-hoon, I find it impossible to separate the musician from the man. As the guitarist who helped lead F.T. Island, he clearly had the skill to perform, sing, and act on big stages. But his 2019 conviction recasts everything. For me, talent never excuses the betrayal of the trust that fame is built on; if anything, it sharpens the disappointment. I look at his career as a sobering reminder that visibility carries responsibility. It is hard to admire the artistry when the person used that platform to harm others, and I think that complexity deserves to be stated plainly.
