Dean Holdsworth

Dean Holdsworth is my kind of footballer, the relentless craftsman. Born in Walthamstow in 1968, he scored 193 league goals across 610 games over a twenty-two-year career, numbers that look modest until you sit with them. Playing for sixteen clubs across nineteen spells could read as instability, but I see it as proof that someone always wanted his goals. His best years at Brentford, Wimbledon and Bolton mark him as a true poacher, and his move into coaching and a technical director role shows a man who never really left the game. I have real respect for strikers who simply keep delivering.
