My Take
What I respect most about Ed Sheeran is the order of operations: he wrote songs from age eleven, put out the No.5 Collaborations Project independently, and only then signed to a label. That tells you the work ethic came before the machine. The trophy shelf of Grammys and multiple Brit Awards almost undersells how unusual his career is: a self-built songwriter from Halifax who scaled to stadium level without ever shedding the busker's plainness. I find his refusal to perform celebrity more interesting than the hits themselves. He treats songwriting like a trade, clocking in daily, and that craftsman's mentality is why I trust his longevity more than almost any pop act of his generation.
