Ella Purnell

Ella Purnell is one of those actors who quietly builds an impressive body of work before the world catches up — and then, suddenly, everybody catches up at once. She grew up doing West End theatre as a kid in London, showed up memorably in Maleficent and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, and held her own in the prestige drama Yellowjackets. But it was her role as Lucy in Amazon's Fallout adaptation in 2024 that really launched her into a different orbit — she carried that show with a wide-eyed optimism that never tipped into naivety, and the chemistry she brought made the whole post-apocalyptic premise feel genuinely warm. There's a specificity to her choices that makes me think she's just getting started.
