Glenn Shorrock

I find Glenn Shorrock fascinating precisely because his story crosses two worlds. Born in Chatham, England, he became one of Australia's defining voices, fronting the Twilights and Little River Band with a warm, effortlessly melodic delivery. What draws me to him is that he never relied on flash; his appeal lives in the temperature of his voice and his instinct for a hook. Eight consecutive Twilights hits is no accident. His 2020 honorary membership in the Order of Australia feels like overdue recognition for an immigrant kid who quietly became a national treasure through decades of singing.
