Grant Bowler

Grant Bowler strikes me as the consummate working actor, a New Zealander who treated four national industries as one big workplace. From Outrageous Fortune to Ugly Betty, he keeps turning up as the reliable, watchable presence that makes scenes click. I like that he also hosts and presents, because it signals range and a quick, adaptable mind rather than a single trick. He is not the name people shout first, but he is exactly the kind of professional a production wants on set. I find that durable, border-crossing craftsmanship far more interesting than fleeting fame.
