Heo Sung-tae

Heo Sung-tae is the kind of character actor I find endlessly watchable. A Pusan National University graduate who arrived at fame relatively late, he turned that patience into a gift for menace, owning the screen as the gangster Jang Deok-su in Squid Game after building his craft in The Age of Shadows. What impresses me is his range underneath the intensity, carrying it into Crash and Good Boy without coasting on one note. For me he represents a wave of Korean supporting players who can anchor a scene with a single glare, and I trust him to keep stealing the shows he's in.
