Ivan Lendl

What fascinates me about Lendl is how he weaponized discipline. He wasn't the most naturally gifted, yet he turned conditioning, diet, and relentless preparation into a blueprint that reshaped how the sport approached professionalism. Spending 270 weeks at No. 1 wasn't luck; it was engineering. I find his second act even more compelling, his coaching of Andy Murray to multiple titles proved his mind was as sharp as his forehand. Stoic, unsmiling, almost monkish in his focus, Lendl embodies the idea that excellence is built, not gifted. That quiet, methodical intensity is exactly what I admire most about him.
