My Take

I have a real soft spot for scrum-halves like Jack Stratton, the smallest body on the pitch making the biggest decisions. Coming out of Taihape and earning a spot in the Crusaders setup is no small feat; that squad is stacked with international talent, so even cracking the bench means you can genuinely play. What I admire most is the Lincoln University background running alongside the rugby, a reminder that he built a brain as well as a game. He may not have a trophy cabinet that lights up a headline, but these unglamorous engine-room players are exactly the kind I find myself quietly rooting for.
