My Take
What draws me to Julie Depardieu is that she carved out her own reputation rather than coasting on a famous surname. Two César Awards for Best Supporting Actress, plus the Most Promising newcomer prize, tell me the industry took her seriously on merit early on. I'm partial to performers who anchor a film from the supporting slot instead of chasing the spotlight, and her willingness to work across stage, screen and even directing suggests a restless, craft-first temperament. She strikes me as the kind of actor whose presence quietly elevates everything around her, and that earns my lasting respect.
