Hokuto Matsumura

Here's the thing about Hokuto Matsumura that always gets me: the guy is a full-on idol, out there singing and commanding a stage with SixTONES, and yet the second he steps into a drama or a film he just dissolves into the role like he's been a character actor his whole life. That switch never stops surprising me. Plenty of idols who try acting stay visibly "the idol playing pretend," but he quietly drops all of that and goes soft and natural, almost unshowy. A Shizuoka kid from Shimada who somehow does both crafts for real, not as a side gig. And the cool, composed exterior cracks just enough in interviews to show a slightly awkward earnestness underneath, which is exactly what makes him so easy to root for. He doesn't beg for your attention, but he pulls your eye anyway.
