My Take
Jürgen Prochnow earned my lasting respect with Das Boot, where his weary, humane U-boat commander anchored one of cinema's great war films. Trained at the Folkwang University of the Arts, he is a genuine stage craftsman who later moved between Hollywood villains and serious leads with equal command. What I value is presence: that deep voice and steady gaze can shift a scene's weight without a single flashy gesture. He is not a flashy star but the kind of actor whose mere arrival adds gravity to a story. Still working into his eighties, he remains quietly, undeniably cool.
