My Take

Kari Matchett is a name I always greet with a quiet nod when she turns up in a cast list. Joan Campbell on Covert Affairs is where she lodged in my memory, all steel and ambiguity, but lately President Michelle Travers on The Night Agent reintroduced her to a whole new streaming audience. Going back, Cube 2: Hypercube is a cult favorite I have a soft spot for. She's Canadian, from Saskatchewan, not American as the tagline says. What strikes me is the authority she brings: she plays power convincingly without performing it. A consummate working actor.
