My Take
Okamoto has long been one of my favorite Japanese sluggers, and his 2026 move to the Toronto Blue Jays makes him impossible to ignore. A homegrown four-hitter for the Yomiuri Giants who also took home a 2021 Golden Glove, he proved he's more than raw power, even if that 185 cm frame produces gorgeous arcs. What moves me is the courage of the jump: leaving the comfort of NPB stardom to test himself in MLB. I'll be watching closely. If his bat translates, Toronto fans are in for something special.
