Keith Allen

Keith Allen is delightfully impossible to file neatly. Actor, comedian, singer, director, presenter, the Welshman from Gorseinon has spent decades refusing to stay in one lane, and that restless mischief is exactly what I enjoy about him. As father to Lily and Alfie Allen and brother to Kevin, he sits at the centre of a genuinely creative family, but he is no mere footnote to his children. There is a rebellious, anti-establishment streak running through his work that British entertainment is richer for. I value performers who cannot be summarised in a single tag, and Allen is gloriously one of them.
