My Take

Kishore is the kind of actor I find myself rooting for precisely because he is not a conventional star. Working across Kannada, Tamil and Telugu cinema, with detours into Malayalam and Hindi, he has built a career on character roles that demand he relearn the music of dialogue in language after language. That is a craftsman's discipline, and it shows: directors across South India keep calling him back because he makes every film around him more credible. As South Indian cinema finds global audiences, I suspect viewers will increasingly recognize his face before his name. For me, he represents the connective tissue that holds a multilingual film industry together.
