My Take
Lennie James has the rare ability to sharpen a scene simply by appearing in it, and his Morgan across The Walking Dead and its spin-off proved he could carry a story as well as anchor one. What fascinates me, though, is that he writes as well as acts, working as both screenwriter and playwright. That dual perspective, understanding a story from the inside and the outside at once, surely explains the unusual conviction in his performances. He's never been a flashy, marketed presence; he's built trust slowly, role by role. I have deep respect for actors of that quiet, principled consistency.
