My Take

Callegari's story appeals to the romantic in me: a kid from the Paris suburbs now plying his trade with HFX Wanderers in the Canadian Premier League. Crossing from France to Canada to keep playing takes a certain stubborn love of the game that I respect. At 174 cm he's not built to overpower anyone, but a midfielder lives by vision and touch rather than size, and there's room for that intelligence to shine. Born in 1998, he's still young enough that the best chapter may be unwritten. I have a soft spot for players grinding it out abroad, and I'll be quietly rooting for him.
