My Take
Gatiss is my kind of creative: an actor who could not resist also writing, and a writer who clearly adores the very genres he plays in. Co-creating Sherlock with Steven Moffat would be a career on its own, yet he has Olivier Awards, a BAFTA, an Emmy and novels besides. What I admire is that none of it feels careerist. His love of horror, the macabre and classic British storytelling bleeds through everything he touches. He is a genuine enthusiast who happens to be brilliant, and that combination is rarer than it sounds. Few people in the industry have so visibly turned their obsessions into art.
