My Take

Mick Fleetwood is the human metronome who literally gave Fleetwood Mac half its name, his surname fused with John McVie's. At 1.97m he's hard to miss, but what I value is that he and McVie were the only constants across every studio album, the load-bearing wall while singers and lovers came and went. Holding a band together through the soap opera that produced Rumours took as much temperament as timing. He's no flashy drummer; he's a foundation. I have real respect for that kind of steady, unglamorous leadership that lets other people shine while you keep the whole thing standing.

Overview

Michael John Kells Fleetwood (born 24 June 1947) is an English musician, songwriter and actor. He is the drummer, co-founder and leader of the rock band Fleetwood Mac. His surname was merged with that of the group's bassist John "Mac" McVie (they were the only two members to appear on every studio album during the band's run) to form the name of the band.
