My Take
Mircea Lucescu was, to me, the embodiment of a football lifer. Winning seven Romanian titles as a player with Dinamo București would be a career in itself, yet he reinvented himself as one of the most respected managers in Eastern Europe, decorated by both Romania and Ukraine. What strikes me is his longevity: still prowling the touchline into his late seventies. His passing in 2026 closed a chapter that spanned the modern history of the sport. I respect figures who refuse to let go of their calling, and Lucescu poured his entire being into the game until the very end.
