Mo Johnston

Mo Johnston is one of those forwards whose career carries the texture of an era. What strikes me most is his Glaswegian grounding: a Partick Thistle product who grew into a genuine goalscorer, helping Watford reach the 1984 FA Cup Final. I admire strikers who are made, not given, and Johnston's path has that hard-earned quality. His move into coaching tells me he understood the game beyond his own finishing. To me he represents the gritty, no-nonsense number nine, the kind of player whose influence quietly shaped the football we watch today, deserving of more remembrance than he gets.
