My Take

Nicola Coughlan is the kind of late-bloomer story I genuinely root for. Breaking through after thirty with Derry Girls, then climbing to a leading role as Penelope in Bridgerton, she earned every bit of that spotlight the slow way. What I admire most is how she refuses to let anyone's narrow expectations define her presence on screen; she simply commands attention. There is real warmth and self-possession in how she carries roles that lesser actors might have shrunk into. From a small town in Galway to the heart of two beloved shows on both sides of the Atlantic, hers is a trajectory I'll keep watching.
