Park Gyu-young

Park Gyu-young is one of those actors who quietly sneaks up on you — she spent years in smaller supporting roles after her 2016 debut, and then Sweet Home dropped on Netflix in 2020 and suddenly everyone knew her name. What I love about her is that she doesn't rely on the typical idol-to-actress pipeline; she came up through Yonsei University and built her craft the patient way. Her intensity on screen feels earned rather than manufactured. Landing a role in Squid Game seasons 2 and 3 is a massive vote of confidence from the industry, and honestly, watching her hold her own in that franchise tells you everything about where her career is headed.
