My Take

DeMarre Carroll is my kind of NBA story. Drafted 27th in 2009, he was never the headline pick, yet he carved out a long career on grit, lockdown defense, and a three-point shot he willed into existence. Players like him are the connective tissue of winning teams, doing the unglamorous work that box scores barely capture. That he transitioned into an assistant coaching role with the Suns feels exactly right. The hustler who earned every minute now teaches the next generation how to do the same.
