My Take
Rebecca Mader will always be, for me, two unforgettable characters: Charlotte on Lost and the deliciously wicked Zelena on Once Upon a Time. The English actress has a particular gift for villainy that's playful rather than purely menacing, which is a tricky balance to strike. What I admire is her range, sliding between sympathetic and sinister without ever phoning it in. More recently she's expanded into writing and YouTube, taking ownership of her own voice rather than just waiting for roles. I like performers who keep widening their toolkit, and her sharp, distinctly British screen presence keeps drawing me back.
