My Take
Armitage is, to me, one of those actors whose gravity does all the talking. That deep voice and watchful stillness gave Thorin Oakenshield a tragic king's weight the role badly needed, and his John Thornton turned a period drama into something smouldering. What I love is that he doesn't chase noise; he disappears into stage work, audiobook narration, and now writing, which feels rare for someone who could coast on franchise fame. There's a craftsman's patience to his career. I find him more compelling the quieter he gets, and I'd happily follow him into whatever character-driven corner he wanders next.
