Ryan Mason

What strikes me about Ryan Mason is how his story bends from one chapter into a completely different one. He came up through Tottenham's youth ranks and broke into the first team back in 2008, building a midfield career in England. But what I find genuinely compelling is the pivot to coaching, all the way up to a head coach role at West Bromwich Albion in the Championship. Going from player to leading a club's dugout is a hard transition that many never manage. I read him as someone who didn't just hang around football after playing, but actively reinvented himself on the touchline, and that earns my respect.
