My Take

Scott McTominay is my favorite kind of footballer: the academy kid who was endlessly doubted and simply refused to go away. At Manchester United he was often treated as a stopgap, yet he quietly stacked up more than 250 appearances and two domestic trophies. The move to Napoli then revealed what I always suspected: given trust and a defined role, he is a box-to-box force who arrives in the penalty area like a freight train. Add his wholehearted commitment to Scotland, and you get a player whose ceiling was never about talent, only belief. His late-blooming arc genuinely moves me.
