Simon Climie

Simon Climie interests me precisely because he moved from the spotlight to the soundboard. As the voice of Climie Fisher he tasted the front of the stage, then chose the producer's chair, shaping other artists' records instead of chasing his own applause. Those are genuinely different talents, and the fact that he writes songs too means he understands a track from its bones outward. I admire performers who can surrender the limelight once they have known it; there's a certain grace in deciding the best work happens behind the glass. A craftsman's career, and I respect that choice.
