Tony Hadley

Tony Hadley is, for me, one of the defining voices of the 1980s. Born in London in 1960, he fronted Spandau Ballet with that rich, soaring delivery that could carry an entire arena. What I respect is his refusal to coast on nostalgia: he left, returned, left again, and kept standing on his own two feet as a solo artist, eventually honored as a Member of the Order of the British Empire. That blend of vocal power and durable self-belief is rare. I admire performers who simply keep singing on their own terms, and Hadley clearly does.
