My Take
Will Arnett owns a very specific comic territory: the booming voice of misplaced confidence. Whether it is a doomed magician in a family sitcom or the self-sabotaging BoJack Horseman, he plays men who are ridiculous and quietly heartbroken at the same time, and I find that combination weirdly profound. Few comedians can make failure feel this human. His pivot into voice work — LEGO Batman especially — proved the instrument alone can carry a film. I also respect the Canadian modesty underneath the bravado; he never seems to take the persona home. To me, he is a character actor disguised as a comedy star.
