My Take
Adam Savage won me over the way he wins most people over: through MythBusters. What I admire is that the Discovery show was never really about busting myths, it was about modeling curiosity and rigor on camera, and Savage made the scientific method look like the best job on earth. His background is fascinating too, real film model work on Star Wars: Episode II and The Matrix Reloaded before TV. He's since become a genuine science-communication figure, picking up a Humanist of the Year nod. I like that he treats building things and explaining things as the same act.
