My Take

Aimee Carrero interests me as a genuine range player. Born in Santo Domingo and a Florida International University graduate, she has moved fluidly from the comedic beats of Young & Hungry to the heavier registers of Maid and The Americans, and into voice work besides. Plenty of actors master either lightness or shadow; doing both convincingly is rarer than people assume. Behind the resume I read the persistence it takes to carve out a place across languages and cultures with Latina roots in an industry that doesn't make that easy. I find myself genuinely curious about whatever she chooses next.
